Over the last several years since the advent of 9/11 a curious pattern of behavior has emerged which has begun to make this writer wonder whether or not we are losing not only our sense of identity, but our sense of strength. IIt had always been the dominant impression that had Al Gore won the 2000 elections and then experienced the 9/11 disaster, he would have probably published a letter to potential Islamic Jihadists that apologized for building those towers where they wanted to fly their planes. New Jet Charter Service At Smith ReynoldsPosted by JamesB in Business News, tags: Dynamic Airways, PACE, Smith Reynolds, winston-salemDynamic Aviation is launching a Charter Air Service called Dynamic Airways with it’s first jet based in Winston-Salem. Dynamic Airways will hold a Media Open House at Smith Reynolds on Thursday, October 28 from 10-12PM. The initial service will start sometime in November using a single MD-88 however the host of the event, the new COO Guy Cannady, will bring on another plane in December. Services will operate from the Terminal at Smith Reynolds with flights being able to depart to locations as far away as Mexico and the Caribbean. Hopefully some of those former PACE employees can get onboard with this new airline even if in a part-time mode. Right now it’s reported they have around 40 full and part-time employees but with added planes they would obviously hire more.

Lexington BBQ Festival a Huge HitPosted by JamesB in General Public Event, Triad News, tags: BBQ, LexingtonExpectations were for around 100,000 and I’d say they hit that number if not well above it. This was one huge Saturday in Lexington this weekend, bigger than any prior year by a fair margin. This is a shot from the Kids area looking back downtown. Downtown itself was elbow to elbow. If anything Lexington probably needs to look at expanding the area they use for the Festival, moving some of the music further off main to get the crowds moving a bit more. When it comes to immigration, no matter what you may have heard, there is only one operative issue on the table, and that is the LAW. Equal protection under the law has been the hallmark of American Jurist Prudence since the founding documents were written and has the rights of the criminal and the victim equally balanced. That means that the law is applied equally and must act not as a moral imperative, but rather as an ethical one. The moral man simply recognizes that the law exists and is just, while the ethical man is compelled to obey it. Over the years American leadership has made a startling choice to obey laws they only choose to obey. Since Congress can arbitrarily exempt itself from having to be held to obedience of a law they disagree with, they can serve their own desire for power and wealth by ignoring immigration law and making public statements in support of violating the law and encouraging individuals to violate it and illegally cross into the United States. These they hope are potential voters as soon as they can make the case for amnesty. Read the rest of this entry »

Antimicrobial Technologies Group Looking At Winston-SalemPosted by JamesB in Business News, Technology, Triad News, tags: business, winston-salemAntimicrobial Technologies Group recently visited Winston-Salem having meetings with Meridian Reality and Grande Peak Technologies. CEO Simon Johnston and the management team from ATG reviewed the area for potential sites and appears to have expressed a serious interesting in the RJR Whitaker site. Antimicrobial Technologies Group makes anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-odor fabrics, fibers, plastics and paints. They are looking for a facility in the 100,000 square foot range however commented that they could easily outgrow such a site within a few years. ATG is a relatively new company derived from the research of a professor at the University of South Dakota. They had a ribbon cutting of their South Dakota facility just last year at which time they employed just a handful of people. Dr. YuYu Sun discovered a N-Halamine molecule which is claimed to fight germs, fungus, mold and viruses, a very bold claim I would think. ATG holds the rights to that molecule and looks to deploy it in everything from paint to textiles, textiles being where Winston-Salem comes in. Read the rest of this entry »

Forsyth County Schools Used Federal Stimulus Funds For Trip To Water ParkPosted by JamesB in Financial, Political, Triad News, tags: Education, Winston-Salem/Foryth County Schools, WS/FSCAppears Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools played it a little fast and loose with Federal Stimulus Funds resulting in thousands of dollars spent in violation of the terms of the The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. These expenditures included over $400 to send students to watch “Ice Age” and “Terminator” as well as a nearly $1,000 trip to Wet and Wild. What is the school system doing sending kids, even 6-12, to an R-rated Movie anyway? Read the rest of this entry »

“Oh what a tangled web we weave” PACE Airlines UncoveredPosted by JamesB in Business News, Triad News, tags: Lee Booth, PACELooks like everything published on this site about PACE Airlines is finally coming out in court as the Trustee Allman filed a complaint last week showing the troubles with PACE go back to the beginning and never got better. I won’t bother re-writing a very thorough article from The Journal by Richard Carver, “Pace set for a fall – Bad business model, mismanagement led to failure, lawyer says.” I will point out however that back in October 2009 we posted that Lee Booth had taken over PACE Airlines and was the primary for weeks. The paperwork filed by Edwin Allman III, the Chapter 7 trustee, without a doubt claims Rodgers signed over PACE to Booth and that Booth had indeed taken PACE assets. It appears Allman also states many of those assets are now missing. Unfortunately The Journal doesn’t have a link to the latest court documents so hopefully they will get those online soon. Government leaders don’t even try to pretend that their system is intended to be for the benefit of society, because men, being frail and cowardly creatures, seek escape from the burdens of daily responsibility and are inwardly unable to face the truth. Leadership is aware of this fact and have only one aim, and that is to amass power. To them power is not a means, it is an end that is justified by the means. Power means having the ability to inflict unlimited pain and suffering on others to accomplish the desired end. For them it creates reality, and in so doing it creates truth. The position of the power elite can be said to be the extreme form of philosophical idealism, but it is more relevant to recognize that the concept of truth and reality are extreme forms of pragmatism by the people in which the truth becomes subordinate to the ruling elite. Truth is proven by the consensus of millions; so how can a minority of one be right? Read the rest of this entry » |
