Looks like everything published on this site about PACE Airlines is finally coming out in court as the Trustee Allman filed a complaint last week showing the troubles with PACE go back to the beginning and never got better. I won’t bother re-writing a very thorough article from The Journal by Richard Carver, “Pace set for a fall – Bad business model, mismanagement led to failure, lawyer says.”

I will point out however that back in October 2009 we posted that Lee Booth had taken over PACE Airlines and was the primary for weeks. The paperwork filed by Edwin Allman III, the Chapter 7 trustee, without a doubt claims Rodgers signed over PACE to Booth and that Booth had indeed taken PACE assets. It appears Allman also states many of those assets are now missing. Unfortunately The Journal doesn’t have a link to the latest court documents so hopefully they will get those online soon.

In other PACE news employees recently discovered PACE did not file 2009 employee earnings with the Social Security Administration.

“Reality, what a concept,” is the hallmark of Robin Williams reason. As a concept it exists in the human mind and no where else. Individually it is the synthesis of mans conception and understanding. And so, whatever the majority holds to be true is in fact the truth. By controlling minds, society controls the truth as they perceive it.

Government leaders don’t even try to pretend that their system is intended to be for the benefit of society, because men, being frail and cowardly creatures, seek escape from the burdens of daily responsibility and are inwardly unable to face the truth. Leadership is aware of this fact and have only one aim, and that is to amass power. To them power is not a means, it is an end that is justified by the means. Power means having the ability to inflict unlimited pain and suffering on others to accomplish the desired end. For them it creates reality, and in so doing it creates truth. The position of the power elite can be said to be the extreme form of philosophical idealism, but it is more relevant to recognize that the concept of truth and reality are extreme forms of pragmatism by the people in which the truth becomes subordinate to the ruling elite. Truth is proven by the consensus of millions; so how can a minority of one be right?

So, one man in a hundred knows a fact to be true, but the other 99 are instructed by the ruling class that the fact is false and that they must accept that. That one man quickly becomes the crazy man in the room because a fact that he knows to be true is rejected by the masses and group think however erroneous prevails.

If one works for a big corporation which claims its product is better than all of their competitors, whether the claim is justified or not in terms of definable reality is irrelevant. What matters is that as long as one serves this particular corporation, the claim becomes operative truth, and we decline validation of an objectively valid truth. In fact, if one changes jobs and move over to a competitor, we accept the new truth that its products are best, and subjectively speaking, this new truth will be as true today as the old one was yesterday. Again the truth spoken by many overcomes the truth spoken by one, regardless of whether that truth is indeed the truth or not.

This is an age when there are endless amounts of information and access to it is truly ubiquitous. It is a mystery understanding why people are so ignorant or grievously uninformed. They are sheep who either cannot or will not think for themselves, or who simply don’t care. In a country with is the freest flow of information and freedom to be the most knowledgeable people in the world, the people of the United States are content to be used and manipulated because it’s easier than having to pursue the truth.

In a successful manipulation of the mind a person is no longer saying the opposite of what they think, but thinking the opposite of what is true. Thus, if they have surrendered their independence and integrity completely, if they experience themselves as a thing which belongs either to the state, the party, or the corporation, then two plus two are indeed five and they can feel free because there is no longer any awareness of the discrepancy between the truth and a lie. Specifically this applies to ideologies not dissimilar to the Inquisitors who tortured people in the name of their understanding of Christian love. They reject every principle for which their faith originally stood, and choose to do it for what they term the greater good of the people. Even though the content is reversed, the people still act out in the name of their faith.

We present our society as being one of free initiative, individualism, and idealism, when in reality these are merely words. We are a centralized managerial industrial society of an essentially bureaucratic nature, motivated by materialism. Yet there is a continuing adherence to spirituality by many, but rejected by a very hostile but minority opposition.

One can react in two ways. They can become more hopeless and resigned to their fate, or by feeling that there is still time and by responding with a greater clarity and courage. All negative Utopias make it appear that it is possible to dehumanize man completely and yet for life to go on. You may doubt the correctness of this and think that while it is possible to destroy the core of man, one would also be destroying the future of mankind. It is quite clear that even now it is necessary to sound alarms across the country and make people aware how dangerously close they are to destroying the foundations of their free society.

It becomes clear in the modern world that the problem comes not from the droning voice of a single entity bent on driving society into subservience and taking control of the world, but rather that there are so many vitriolic voices dividing the people into opposing groups, all of which have their own potential to divide and destroy the society. There are racial groups, religious groups, social groups, and political groups, each of which proposes a philosophy or psychology which they see as the only truth and which only serves to divide the people against each other. These groups in demonstrations have moved people to violence which has resulted in injury and death, property damage in the millions of dollars, and divisions between people which set neighbor against neighbor. In the end they have failed to produce any workable or positive solution that quiet discussion and common sense couldn’t have resolved better.

In the end it is clear that unless people choose a better way of dealing with each other and respecting a common view of society, anyone who is left in the room will in fact be the crazy man in the room when they are the only representation of common sense. It should be clear that everyone can represent their beliefs, their faiths, or their allegiances without being punished by those in society who don’t share their beliefs. There is a calamity that affects us all in that we will likely divide into factions and set against each other when the smarter path would be to unite and help each other survive. We have to make a choice and we have to have the courage to step up and do the right thing with respect to all people with whom we deal.

Well it’s going to cost us all just like it did for the Dell deal but maybe this time they have at least decided to pick an industry with some legs under it. For those that don’t remember Dell was in the middle of off-shoring it’s operations when it opened the Winston-Salem plant in which millions of both reported and unreported incentives were provided. This time I think we are looking at a company with a long history and solid finances so maybe this one sticks around.

With upwards of $23.5 million in direct local incentives and $50 million in state incentives Caterpillar may employ upwards of 500 people. but are those jobs worth nearly $100 million? Time will tell considering we still don’t know what all our “leaders” have promised other than tax breaks.

The very belated legacy media reports on the Black Panther intimidation story have overlooked one critical aspect. Concentration on the antics of the two Black Panthers at the polling station — whom careful examination shows to be officers of the New Black Panther army’s specialized “Midnight Slob” unit — has led to a failure to address the Justice Department’s response. Namely, the contention by former DoJ attorney J. Christian Adams that he was ordered “not to bring any other cases against blacks and other minorities.”

There is no reason to doubt Adams, who told Commentary that he’s willing to testify on the matter under oath. But if true, it raises extraordinarily serious issues concerning the Obama Justice Department’s dedication not to only equality under law, but just to execution of the law on any level. If Eric Holder is guilty of putting any such policy in place, then the Department of Justice is manipulating the law, is refusing to fulfill its charter, and is in a deep state of corruption.

The “hands off minorities” attitude expressed by the current Justice Department has roots going back generations. Black dissatisfaction with the legal system is nothing new. Blacks distrusted law enforcement, with good reason, during the segregation period, where it was utilized in large part to enforce the prevailing apartheid system. An overreaction to earlier abuses during the civil rights era led to lax enforcement and sentencing, allowing black criminals to run riot in black neighborhoods with minimal interference from the justice system. It is often forgotten that blacks suffered the most from this country’s crime explosion of the late 20th century.

Eventually, of course, the situation was turned around (though it required a quarter-century to even start responding to the policy errors that triggered the great crime wave). Part of the solution was more prisons to hold all the bad boys being bagged by revitalized law enforcement. Demographic realities being what they were, a lot of the cons filling the new cells were black. Almost immediately, this became an “issue,” with claims that the United States was imprisoning more people that the USSR under Stalin (untrue — as much as 10% of the Soviet population went through the Gulag). White liberal commentators put considerable effort into attempts to construe the reason why crime was so low while prison populations were so high. (Fox Butterfield of The New York Times established a substantial career-within-a-career on this basis.) Among black intellectuals — most of whom did not live in black neighborhoods — the response was an ideological construct called Black Legal Scholarship (BLS).

The basic premise of BLS is that no universally applicable form of law exists, and that the American legal system, having evolved from British common law, is a “white” structure, racist to the core, that cannot be fairly applied to blacks. As practiced today, law is a system of “oppression,” the law enforcement establishment its tool. Along with assorted minor filigrees (e.g., the contention that black scholars need not read or cite previous work since the basis of black thought is “narrative” — that is, all you need to do is come up with a good story), that’s BLS for dummies.

It’s clear that, if actually put into practice, BLS would simply comprise a U-turn back to the ’60s, with hoodlums ruling the streets unchallenged. While this might have appealed to upper-middle-class blacks residing in Highland Park or Berkeley, its attraction to the rest of black America was minimal.

But BLS had its adherents, even within the oppressive white-controlled legal system. One of its leading exemplars, who had practiced BLS even before it was formalized, was Judge Bruce Wright, who achieved the status of legend as “Turn ‘em loose Bruce.”

Wright was appointed to the New York City criminal bench in 1970 by that prince of RINOs, John Lindsay. Wright was motivated by three distinct concepts: that blacks were legally defined solely as victims of racism, that bail was consistently set too high, and that police forces were the enemies of mankind. He wasted no time in putting these contentions to the test. In 1972, he set a bail of $500 for a man accused of murdering a cop. (Some sources, perhaps seeking greater credibility, assert that it was $5,000, but that’s not the case.) Two years later, he released a man accused of kidnapping and trying to murder a cop. These and similar decisions set him at sword’s point with the Police Benevolent Association, which hounded him mercilessly. Ed Koch, in his role as exemplar of common sense, refused to renew his appointment, after which Wright ran for and won a seat on the civil court. This being New York state, he was eventually appointed to the State Supreme Court.

Wright appears to have been a victim of what may well come to be called BHO syndrome, a personality disorder in which certain blacks exhibit a compulsive need to demonstrate their “blackness” in the most extreme manner conceivable to offset the fact that they actually have no black American ancestry to speak of. Wright’s mother was an Irish immigrant, his father an immigrant from the Caribbean island of Montserrat. (Recent events have revealed yet another sufferer: Benjamin Jealous of the NAACP.)

Wright’s theory of jurisprudence was BLS in action, his attitude toward whites quite similar to that of his namesake, the renowned preacher Jeremiah Wright. Matters at last came to a head in 1994, when Wright publicly refused to hear any cases involving blacks and drugs on the grounds that these were the product of a massive conspiracy against black Americans, while encouraging other judges to do the same. He was shortly afterward hustled into retirement. (Wright, who fancied himself an intellectual, appears not to have realized that removing black judges from the equation would leave all sentencing decisions in the hands of white devils.)

Wright is held in high esteem in a number of quarters. Evidently, the Justice Department is one of them. Through Holder’s “hands off minorities” rule, a fringe viewpoint once limited to academia and the occasional crank judge has now been emplaced at the very center of the American legal system.

Holder is, of course, notorious as the man who accused America as a whole of “moral cowardice” on the subject of race, and afterward hiding in the closet when the cowards roared back at him. But we can discuss race without him.

Part of the problem in dealing with racism is that the concept has, through rhetoric and ideology, been reversed over the past half-century. Most people today would define racism as prejudice against a particular ethnicity. But it is in fact a conviction that one’s own race is superior and holds a privileged position in regard to others. The Southern backwoodsmen who constituted the Klan were insistent on their superiority to black Americans. The Nazis were equally sanguine concerning their position vis-à-vis the Jews (and just about everybody else, apart from some scattered ethnicities here and there). It is racism in the pure sense that Eric Holder has introduced into the Justice Department by attempting to place blacks beyond the law, a privilege denied other ethnicities.

Viewed from this angle, the relationship between Holder’s policy and other forms of black racism — that of Jeremiah Wright, the various Black Muslim cults, or the New Black Panthers — becomes apparent. The shadow concept behind each — and for that matter, the core doctrine of BLS — is identical. Holder has simply made it an official policy.

Removing racial privilege goes a long way toward defanging racism. The United States has had considerable success in carrying this policy out since the 1950s. In officially reinstating racial privilege, Holder is playing a very dangerous game. Barack Obama has often boasted of his status as a post-racial president. The actions of Eric Holder, his select attorney general, give this statement the lie, and threaten to push the country right back into the discriminatory muck it began to shake off in the ’60s.

Organized black racism will meet the same fate as other varieties. But it needs to be exposed. J. Christian Adams has done the country a service by doing exactly that. His efforts should not be overshadowed by the more lurid aspects of the story (or, for that matter, dismissed by Abigail Thernstrom and Linda Chavez).

Irresponsible black leadership has made life difficult for blacks in general for decades. That’s the tradition that Holder is following. It is a foul, worthless tradition, a disservice to black Americans and the country as a whole. If Obama wanted to live up to his post-racial rhetoric, the best move he could make would be to publicly repudiate it through a thorough cleansing of his Justice Department. But I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Recently the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) passed a resolution condemning racism in the Tea Party movement. It was at once ironic and idiotic when you considered the history and behavior documented for both groups. Any group that holds a demonstration generally leaves behind a mess and very often property damage and personal injuries. The history and video record of Tea Party demonstrations is that their sites are usually cleaner and left in pristine shape. More to the point, they have never required any attention from law enforcement except to enforce standard crowd control. The only message they have ever made central to their protest is too much taxing, too much spending, too much government, and too much infringement on the freedom of citizens.

There have always been a number of videos on the air and on the web, which feature members of the Tea Party movement juxtaposed by a preponderance of Black politicians, office holders, religious leaders, fringe and main stream racially centric groups. The Tea party message is unrelenting and unless the video is doctored there are members of every racial group participating in their protest. On the other side are fire and brimstone protestations of racism, maltreatment, and other allegations which have very few things in common with reality. Since the election of the Post Racial President Barack Obama the racial atmosphere in the country has become absolutely toxic and there are many who fear that a race war is just on the horizon. It seems almost idiotic when you consider that the racial problems in fly over country versus those in Washington DC demonstrate more clearly than ever that there are more racists per capita in Washington than in any average city in the US. That does not include New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, and the like. It arose out of a voter intimidation case in Philadelphia in which two of the new Black Panthers could be seen in front of a voting location, one of which had a cudgel in his hand, in deliberate and ostentatious intimidation mode. In the face of direct and reliable testimony that they were shouting racial epithets, threatening white voters, and telling those who came by that they should “get used to being ruled by the black man.” It was tried and a guilty verdict delivered until a political appointee in the Holder Justice Department ordered it dropped. This once a whistle blower was only the beginning as the Holder/Obama justice department made any prosecution against blacks off limits and whites the only acceptable target.

Then there were videos of King Samir Shabazz making public statements about his hatred for white people and admonition to blacks to kill “crackers” (whites) and cracker babies. There were videos praising Osama Bin Laden and lauding his good works, calling the United States the real terrorist state. There were videos where they claim a need to arm themselves because the white man is armed. Yet at the end of the day the NAACP has said nothing about the overt racist behavior of fellow blacks, whether it is the hatred, the intimidation or the need to arm. It is as though nothing ever happened in that regard and it is plainly hypocrisy and fraud on their part but apparently they are not smart enough to figure out that we already know.

And wouldn’t it be novel if the NAACP stepped up and admitted its relationships with the new Black Panthers and The Nation of Islam Church led by Louis Farrakhan? There are the preachers in the mold of Jeremiah Wright who advocate Black Nationalism that adherents feel whites can only be saved if they give everything they own to Blacks. These are the very words of Black Nationalist founder Marcus Garvey himself. All of these organizations have been nothing if not patently and transparently dishonest in the way they point fingers at others while going out of their way to hide their own culpability. It cites examples of racism they say were inflicted on black members of the House but cannot produce an iota of evidence to support the accusation. Cameras rolling from every conceivable angle, none of the spitting was captured on camera and not one recording of the perfidious “N” word anywhere. Andrew Brietbart even offered a $100,000.00 reward to anyone who could produce a recording or video of the event, but there were no takers.

And in the heart of our government people like Rep. Melvin L. Watt, Rep. Maxine Waters, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, Rep. Gregory W. Meeks, Rep. John Lewis, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Rep. Jesse L. Jackson, Jr., Rep. Alcee L. Hastings (A Judge who was impeached and convicted of criminal actions), Rep. Chaka Fattah, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Rep. John Conyers, Jr., Rep. James E. Clyburn, Rep. Barbara Lee who far from working to ease racial tensions and do their utmost to promote a more respectful dialog, engage in overtly racist comments and promote what can only be described as acrimonious and bitter dialog that does more to alienate people than ameliorate them.

What is even more remarkable is that Barack Obama came into office at a time when Black people are suffering. Murder rates among blacks are skyrocketing. Out of wedlock birth rates are staggering. Black on Black crime rate is destroying their culture (a very rich and blessed culture), and the abuse of drugs and resulting death rates are having a devastating effect. But does Mr. Obama focus his attention on these problems and try to help ameliorate the devastating effect on their society? Not in any real and meaningful way. He would rather stoke the flames of intolerance and racism by playing the race card for his own political advantage. The examples of Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Shirley Sherrod are testament to his ignorance and self indulgence. He is a man who can only see his own gain and notoriety. The Emperor has no clothes at all.

But why are we surprised? We have seen the infamous Tawana Brawley hoax perpetrated by the Rev. Al Sharpton. His vitriol and over zealous attacking of white people by hoax and lie without proof or legal liability has led to the death of his targets. The Reverend Jesse Jackson of the Rainbow Push Coalition may be the ultimate source of reference on the art of racial blackmail and shakedowns. Like John Edwards who perfected certain lawsuit methodologies to the point where you simply have to set them in motion to get results, the Reverend Jackson has over the years bilked businesses of millions of dollars, much of which has supported a somewhat lavish lifestyle, an extra marital affair, and apparently an out of wedlock child with an employee.

These are people who preach to us and tell us we are evil and that we should give away all we’ve worked for without any consideration of what white society has worked for. The difference is they demand it without even understanding that half of the population of America never had any exposure or responsibility for the institution of slavery. My family didn’t immigrate unlit 1923 and I can honestly say that we have never demonstrated any racist behavior in succeeding generations. Let me further point out that the etymology of the word “slave” comes from the word “slav” (people of the Balkans) in 1250-1300 in medieval times. Races have been victimized by slavery since before Roman times when Christians were fed to wild beasts in the Coliseum. It is easy to accept that Blacks have suffered and that they deserve the same rights as everyone else, but to imply that they are somehow unique in their suffering is to do a profound disservice of the rest of humanity who have in some cases suffered much worse and used the experience to grow instead of hate.

Many of us remember the speech given by Reverend King in which he lifted his voice to create a vision of a future of equality for all races and a colorblind society that treated everyone with equal respect. It spoke to a need and responsibility of all people to work and act to bring into reality that unique and inspired vision. Yet 50 years later things are worse and the very people who stood by Dr. King’s side in Washington are some of the shrillest voices promoting racism. If Dr. King could see some of the behaviors and rhetoric of those who marched with him for the cause of civil rights, I believe he would be ashamed of them and feel they had done more to set back his work than advance it. He would see that his words had no affect on them and that their appearance may have been more about political expediency that true commitment to the cause.

He is a graduate of Wake Forest University for both his Bachelors degree and his MBA. As the President and small Business owner of a local company, Nathan has direct experience at not just managing finances, but he has direct experience in guiding a business in tough times with a view toward overcoming problems proactively.

Ms. Garrou has held the current seat in District 32 for the last 12 years and is seen as one of the major architects of the fiscal problems that plague North Carolina. Over the last ten years increases in spending have been four times greater than increases in population. This shows the clear willingness to spend without regard for fiscal responsibility. As a result taxes on every front across the state have been increased. In the current session North Carolina was able to close much of their budget deficits only because of billions of dollars that were provided by the Federal government as part of their ill conceived stimulus package. Those funds however, will not be forthcoming next year and North Carolinians will be put in a difficult position as the State Legislature is forced to cut benefits and services to close a multi billion dollar budget gap. Once a resort state that provided a haven for businesses and tourists alike, North Carolina now has one of the highest sales taxes, unfriendly business taxes, and is losing people to neighboring states which have a much more friendly environment.

Nathan enters the race committed to bringing down the rate of unemployment in North Carolina and avoiding any repetition of the mistakes that have led to the current state of affairs. He wants to make sure that the state fosters an environment which attracts investment and promote job growth. Nathan has been clear that his goals if elected are to work diligently to reduce wasteful government spending. He is committed to reducing taxes so that business and industry will once again see North Carolina as a good place to locate their businesses. It is also important that government be limited to its constitutional size and responsibilities to ensure long term economic growth. As a member of the state Senate Nathan Jones will make the people of North Carolina and the proper conduct of their business and representation the business of his Senatorial Office.

Starting their plan for monthly meetings as the country moves toward the midterm elections, the Winston-Salem Chapter of the NC Tea Party met at Starbuck’s near Stanleyville to determine their strength and levels of enthusiasm. The venue selected was expected to accommodate the intimate gathering that organizers expected, but attendance quickly forced the meeting to occupy two rooms in order to avoid fire code violations for occupancy. While about 15 were expected to turn out for this first meeting, it quickly grew to exceed 40, surprising organizers and attendees alike.

The meeting was hosted by Nathan Jones, a candidate for the State Senate in District 32, and was addressed by Joyce Krawiec, the NC Grass Roots Coordinator for Freedom Works. Nathan, who is the founder of this chapter of the NC Tea Party has made his commitment to the people to run for the State Senate and stand up for the people and his conservative values. Nathan has been a tireless advocate for Constitutional rights and for the rights of the people to be protected from government overreach and abuse. Joyce Krawiec is a lecturer and activist associated with the Freedom Works foundation. Founded in 1984, FreedomWorks is headquartered in Washington, DC, and has hundreds of thousands of grassroots volunteers nationwide. The organization is chaired by former U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey.

Joyce spoke passionately on the need for citizens to become involved in the processes that supported elections and to stay in touch with their elected representatives after the fact to be sure that they were kept aware of the peoples voice from day to day. Her own visible passion and interest raised the same passions in her audience who were clearly energized and excited about the prospects of working toward initiating substantial change with the mid term election.

It is clear to all who attended this meeting and to many who will come to future meetings and make their voices heard, that the country needs its citizens to step up and save her from the governance under which she literally suffers now. America is indeed in trouble, and only the citizens who are the life blood of our great nation are empowered with the ability to make the changes necessary. The NC Tea Party shares the same values that Tea Parties across the country do. We join hands in the spiritual sense to put our arms around the country we love and bring her prosperity and promise back for generations yet to come.

Well Dell has extended again the final closing of it’s Winston-Salem plant, why do we say Winston-Salem anyway considering where it’s located but I digress. Anyway most likely due to labor issues in Mexico Dell has decided to keep the plant open allowing some 400 employees per The Journal to keep getting those paychecks. I say per The Journal because the reports I have put that number a good bit less but that’s all rumor.

Recent labor events in Mexico and problems with PC Electronics component maker Foxconn are likely the cause for this extension.

In a total affront to any and all privacy The North Carolina Department Of Revenue FLEW to Seattle to demand Amazon product all records for purchases by North Carolina residents from 2003-2010. Note I capitalized “FLEW” because instead of licking a stamp or using a courier service some enterprising soul in Raleigh figure out how to get a free vacation on you on me by hand delivering the demand letter to Amazon. So not only does the state want to know what you have been reading but they want you to pay for them to find it out while they take cross country flights, stay in hotels and have a nice dinner!

Amazon seeks a declaration that the DOR’s ongoing demand for information that will disclose the names, addresses and purchasing habits of Amazon’s North Carolina customers violates the rights of Amazon to sell, and its customers to purchase, books, movies, music, and other lawful expressive content free from government intrusion into the customers’ reading, viewing and listening choices. These rights are secured under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, Article I, sections 4 and 5 of the Washington State Constitution, and federal law. The DOR’s demand for the identity of customers who purchased video material also violates the Video Privacy Protection Act of 1988, 18 U.S.C. § 2710. Declaratory relief from this Court is necessary to avoid piecemeal litigation or inconsistent rulings in the event other states make similar demands for customer data.

Of course Amazon has turned around and filed an immediate suit to block this request as it flies in the face of any number of court rulings that such information is private however now guess what, we get to send lawyers and their team to Seattle to argue that North Carolina does have a right to this information. Not only are you being asked to provide the state with Federally protected information but your being forced to pay to argue against your own personal rights in a court clear across the country!

The DOR has no business seeking to uncover the identity of Amazon’s customers who purchased expressive content … let alone associating customers’ names and addresses with the specific books, music, and video content that they have purchased,” Amazon wrote. “The collection and disclosure of the customer data … will link those purchases directly to the customers’ names and addresses, exposing their otherwise private reading, viewing, listening and other personal choices to government scrutiny

Please everyone take the time to read this great post on cnet which highlights exactly why North Carolina has no legal right to this information and contact your Representatives in Raleigh immediately. This is not a Left or Right side of the issue debate this is your personal privacy, protected by multiple Federal laws and court cases which the fools in Raleigh don’t seem to care about. While you have your Representative on the phone ask them who went to Seattle, did they fly coach and at what cost, where did they stay and eat and what was the final tally for hand delivering a letter to Amazon.

This is a reprint or repost from an article by Amy Babinchak of ThirdTier who granted permission for this reprint.

“Dell Inc. will spend $3.9 billion for the technology services company Perot Systems Corp. in an attempt to expand beyond the PC business”

“Dell’s purchase of MessageOne, coming on the heels of its acquisition of EqualLogic in November, may signal that the manufacturer is looking to build its own storage brand…”

“Dell Computer has acquired privately-held Plural Inc., a Web application development and services company…”

“Dell has completed the acquisition of Everdream, a leading provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions for remote-service management, providing Dell with an expanded presence in the rapidly growing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-enabled managed services market….”

I could go on and on posting news snippets from the last two years that demonstrate Dell’s progress out of its core business of providing great PC’s and Servers to businesses. Dell has purchased 10 companies all of which have nothing to do with making a good computer for you.

Dell has also reduced the sales and support for partners like Harbor Computer Services. Whereas, we used to have a team at Dell that was dedicated to helping us get you the best configuration for the specific needs of your business, we no longer have that team. Support for business sales is dismal and is moving in the direction of Dell’s customers support – off shore and disinterested.

Recently Dell moved it’s assembly plant from Texas to Mexico. With this move, Dell is no longer able to provide shipping time estimates for custom products. Our customers have experienced month long wait times and this unfortunately isn’t something that Dell intends to fix. It in in fact part of their plan to move away from providing custom computers for business needs.

Given the problems we have been experiencing, coupled with the news that Dell is moving its focus away from building great PC’s and Servers, we have decided to begin the move away from using Dell products. After significant research and agonizing over loosing a long term supplier, we have made our selection. We have been a HUGE Dell fan in the past, so this decision was not taken lightly or quickly – it has in fact been somewhat painful.

Our new preferred partner is Equus. Equus is an American business with 100% of its assembly, support and service in the USA. They build computers from Intel components. They are Intel’s 7th largest customer. They have been in business for 21 years. They are employee owned. They have an office in Novi and are headquartered in Minneapolis. We are confident that we have found the right hardware supplier.

Building computers is what Equus does. Support partners like Harbor Computer Services is all that their support department does. They are good at what they do and have been well respected in the industry for many years.

We hope that you will move along with us in the transition from Dell to Equus. We will still be able to obtain Dell equipment for you, but we no longer feel confident in recommending them as the preferred solution. Ted, Diana and Amy can answer any questions and address concerns that you may have. Change is difficult and uneasy but sometimes necessary. This is one of those cases.
