It appears former CEO William Rodgers has signed away any interest he has in PACE Airlines. In unconfirmed reports Lee Booth has taken what assets were left, primarily FAA Certifications down to a building in Burlington. Former V.P. Stuart Carnie was quoted as saying Rodgers has signed over his interest in the company last week to undisclosed “investors” but all fingers point to Lee Booth. It has been posted on other sites that Booth was the primary investor in PACE near the end and has a history in the aviation field from his ownership of Taylorcraft, a small personal aircraft company he moved to Greensboro back in 1988. Of course rumors abound however the general belief is that Rodgers sold part of PACE to Booth back in September and it was the ownership by Booth that kept an interested party in Dallas from assuming PACE as a whole. The party or group in Dallas wanted 100% ownership and Booth either didn’t want out or wanted more for the assets causing the deal to fall through.

Stuart Carnie further went on to say he had revoked his interest in Rodger’s bond resulting in William Rodgers being rebooked into Forsyth County jail where he remains. This Post has been edited at the request of a person claiming to be Harlan Cobert and due to the content of that email request it is within reason to believe such request was made by him. Until such time as the objection that was raised is shown to be factual by verifiable reference any reference to that issue will be removed from this thread and site.

The Winston-Salem City Council will meet tonight to vote on taking ownership of the downtown, TAXPAYER FUNDED, Baseball stadium. This has turned out to be a non-voter approved investment in building a $42 million dollar stadium using Tax Payer money which if put to a vote would have never been approved in my opinion.

Stay tuned for updates on the outcome of the meeting.

After months of pushing and shoving, which obviously lead to Bob McCoy taking a “medical leave”, it appears Ted Kaplan may have his way, sort of. Today the Forsyth County Tourism Development Authority has divided the task of who will be the next Chairman by selecting Two “Chair’Women”. The vote was taken and in due course the only way to get anything done appears to be selecting two people to switch off as chair, each getting six months at bat while the other plays second fiddle as vice “chair’woman”.

Pat Bryan and Vivian Burke will serve six months each with Bryan having first at bat until December when Burke will reverse roles with her. Considering Kaplan has been arguing that the TDA is top heavy and spends to much on administrative costs it will be interesting to hear his take on this. In just the past few months he has tried to slash funding for the TDA only to take part in this compromise appointing two people to share a post for a year instead of maybe looking outside for one person to take the normal two year appointment.

It did appear as though Kaplan has made his point with the approval of nearly $50,000 to go towards several local events such as a Celebrity bowling event in September and robotic dinosaurs at SciWorks both of which actually are tourist drawing events however the “tourist” for either event in my opinion will be relatively local so is anything gained? Then again $50,000 out of a nearly 3 million dollar budget is snack money isn’t it?

Thanks for being patient during our updates and fixes. I think we have the site back to fully functional however you may notice there are some missing post from the past week which I manually recreate ASAP.

If you find anything broken please let us know. We updated across the board so there may be a few things that pop up however the critical problem of the database not searching or linking is fixed. We also hope to move the server to new hardware in the coming weeks so hopefully performance will jump up a bit.

You may or may not notice but we did a pretty major update and retooled several items that were no longer working correctly. Unfortunately part of the reason for the update was to try and correct problems with Internet Explorer 6 which started showing up after recent Windows Updates however it appears whatever Microsoft did has broken IE6 and the BITS website. As you can see by the tag at the upper left this site will only format correctly with IE7 or Firefox.

If you find a problem in the site please let us know and we will continue trying to get IE6 working again.

Make sure to check out the new online radio player to the lower right and how you can launch it in a seperate mini player which keeps running even if you browse away from out site. Right now we are playing the 80’s and can change that based on user feedback so comment on what you would like to hear!

Johnson Development Associates has sold 415,000 square feet in the Union Cross Business Park to CB Richard Ellis Reality Trust of New Jersey. This was part of a larger sale of some 5 million square feet by Johnson Development of various properties in Spartanburg, Charleston, Orangeburg, and Kings Mountain. Johnson Development says this does not change the current construction of 500,000 square feet in the park or the 102 acres it owns near the Dell plant in Winston-Salem.
