Virus Laden Emails Abound

I am seeing around a two dozen or more virus laden emails a day right now all with the same general subject lines such as:

“payment request from "Qualcomm" or “payment request from "Google"” or “Your Credit Balance is over its limit”

These all contain a backdoor Trojan in the attachment so again and again I remind everyone to not click those attachments you get in email. I like that “transaction inspector module”, they are always looking for something that will just make people click away, well DON’T!

OK they have swapped out the email for another attempted Trojan attack just like the UPS, FedEx and others. Not sure I get the subject of this one, I guess it made sense to them before they translated it into English. Anyway as is always the case DO NOT OPEN EMAIL ATTACHMENTS!

Journalists shot in Georgia – Trojan

Be aware of another UPS notification type email with a payload. This time it’s an attachment, Georgia.zip, with a subject line of “Journalists shot in Georgia” or variation of. I have seen a dozen alerts of these being blocked from one site alone in the past hour.
