Today, Microsoft released a security advisory warning of a very serious unpatched Excel vulnerability, which attackers have already begun exploiting on the Internet. The vulnerability affects all current versions of Excel for Windows and Mac, as well as the Microsoft Excel Viewer and the Office Compatibility Packs.

If your using Automatic Updates as most should you should be aware Microsoft will push Internet Explorer 8 out as a High Priority Update when it is released. If you do not want IE8 installed behind your back then Microsoft has released a Blocking Tool which will allow you to block IE8 until your ready.

As an example of misuse by a program member and what would be a unlicensed use by the end user I happened across this post on CraigsList.com where a MSDN member is selling copies of his program software.
