The latest in a series of airlines going under this week ends with Skybus closing it’s doors on Saturday. Company spokesman Bob Tenenbaum stated “This is a shutdown, all of the aircraft will end up in the bankruptcy proceeding.” The company’s website was basically down as of Saturday morning replaced with a bland statement saying customers should contact their credit card company for refunds.

So once again the Triad area loses another airline and the likelihood that ticket fares from PTIA will shoot through the roof is pretty much a given meaning travelers will once again be forced to drive to Raleigh for reasonable flights. All the rants and raves about how PTIA was expanding including incentives such as $300,000 from Greensboro appear was nothing but a waste of time and money, again.
