I had thought Fresh Market was just opening a new store on RobinHood however it appears they are going to relocate from South Stratford to RobinHood.

A quick search of The Fresh Market website and you will see: image

Construction has been underway for some time with the signs going up last week. Here’s a picture from a few weeks back before the signs went up.

The new location if you have not seen it is between the intersections of RobinHood-Peace Haven Rd. and RobinHood-Silas Creek Parkway. I’ve been told joining Fresh Market will be another Subway and a new restaurant chain to Winston-Salem, like we need another one, "Five Guys Famous Burgers". I’m not familiar with this new joint but they appear to be rolling out throughout the East Coast with multiple places in Charlotte and Cary and a dozen others throughout North Carolina.

This should make the traffic in that area pretty interesting during certain times of day. If you’ve ever tried to merge onto southbound Silas Creek from RobinHood you know what I mean. Turning from Robinhood onto southbound Peace Haven will also be a treat or maybe a trick (sorry an early Halloween reference there).

Rowan Medical Center joins with Novant Health of Winston-Salem.

“Both Novant Health and Carolinas Healthcare are stellar organizations and they have been extremely supportive and responsive to our process and its requirements,” said Glenn Ketner, Rowan Regional Board Chairman. “They are both major providers of health care, have outstanding quality and excellent leadership. We consider ourselves fortunate to have had the opportunity to have discussions with both parties.”

Novant will invest 250 million in Rowan Regional Medical Center over the next five years. RRMC will retain it’s name as well as Board Members plus gain seats on the Novant Health Board and seats on Presbyterian Healthcare which is also part of Winston-Salem’s Novant Health.

T-Mobile, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, will make a cash payment of about $1.6 billion for SunCom, which operates wireless networks in the southeastern United States and Caribbean. The acquisition will improve T-Mobile’s network coverage in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, T-Mobile said in a news release.

My personal comment on this:

Finally it appears we will get T-Mobile in North Carolina. I’m sure it will take some time to fully switch the services over but for those not familiar with T-Mobile let me say this, “CHEAP DATA PLANS”! T-Mobile just announced last week they were in fact dropping the price on most of their various data plans and even doing an email only BlackBerry for $10/month.

Far from an expertT-Mobile Wing™ on these plans and carriers anytime you get competition the consumer wins and with T-Mobile finally rolling out 3G the likes of Verizon will have no choice but to come up with some better service plans. This should be a huge win for businesses in Winston-Salem. T-Mobile also has some of the better phones especially for business use in my opinion.
